Wisdom from above! Unfortunately, I am an atheist. 😉
Don’t worry, I’m a friendly atheist. My name is Ryan (aka RORO). Currently, I am a Ph.D. student studying Psychology or “Behavioral Science” and my employment history involves mental health, addiction, and insurance counseling work.
My interest in psychology stems from my desire to help others, to understand human behavior broadly, and my experience being born into the high control religion known as Jehovah’s Witnesses. I officially left the religion in 2015 and ever since I’ve been learning about the big world outside of the little bubble I grew up in.
People seem to be most interested in discussions relating to my experience growing up in and leaving religion. Many are also interested in my new experiences learning about the culture and the world around me, including my observations on how the cultural phenomenon that is sometimes known as “wokeness” has strong parallels with my religious experience.
