Ryan graduated magna cum laude with a A.A in Liberal Arts from Quinsigamond Community College and graduated cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Psychobiology from Worcester State University. Starting in 2020 Ryan studies Behavioral Neuroscience as a PhD student at the University of New Hampshire.

Previously, he worked for 5 years as a residential counselor for UMASS Memorial Community HealthLink. In this position he worked in a high intensity living environment with dual diagnosis adults (Individuals who experience both addiction and mental illness) and served as a human rights officer.

Other work experiences includes 2 years counseling english and spanish speaking seniors and disabled individuals about medicare and medicaid. Ryan also has 6 years experiences working in the Auto and Homeowners insurance.

In his current position he works with a multidisciplinary approach to studying the behaviors and underlying neurobiology of substance use disorders. This includes exploring the short and long term effects of drug use, the development of treatment and relapse prevention strategies. This research includes a special attention to the unique individual variability and vulnerability as it relates to stress and substance use.
